Romantic Wedding at Ashton Gardens

What says “romance” more than a garden themed wedding? We could not think of any. These love birds, Lori and Bryan, are college sweethearts who recently got married at the gorgeous Ashton Gardens. Their story starts when they met at Brookhaven College where Bryan was playing baseball and Lori was studying her basic courses. They dated for five years before they got engaged. At this point, Bryan had transferred to Northwood University and that is where he proposed to Lori. It was during his last home game as a senior. The announcer had called all the seniors out to the field and then Lori heard her name called as well. She went to the field to find him with a half cut baseball open with a ring in it. In front of everyone at the baseball game Bryan got down on one knee and asked Lori to be his wife.

The theme for their wedding was “romantic garden” which they executed quite well. Lori wanted to use a lot of hydrangeas in honor of her late parents who had huge bushes of them in front of their house. Gro did a wonderful job with their arrangements and giving the room the garden feel that the couple was looking for.

Lori wore a beautiful gown by Anjolique Bridal which she had received from Bliss Bridal Boutique. The use of pastel colors mint, blush and ivory gave the wedding a soft, romantic feel.

In asking what their favorite moment from the wedding was, they said that it was a very short moment right after they walked back down the aisle together. Before the bridal party could catch up to them, Bryan picked Lori up and spun her around. When he sat her down they high-fived and said “OMG we’re married!”

Another special moment for Lori was in the morning after she woke up to start her day. She sat in the window seat of her room at the Wildwood Inn staring out onto the beautiful grounds with her coffee to have some alone time before things got crazy. She knew she would be missing her parents deeply on this day so she wanted to have some time to reflect and talk to them. She said that she had asked them to give her strength and to walk with her that day. Once she felt their presence, she knew she was ready. She said, “I knew that they were with me all day and that my daddy was on my other arm helping my big brother walk me down the aisle.”

An awesome addition to their romantic wedding was the cigar bar created on Ashton Gardens patio. The cigars were provided by Cigar Frog’s.

The simple yet elegant cake was baked by the delicious Sugar Bee Sweets. It fit well with the garden theme and really completed the look. To add a special touch that has Lori & Bryan all over it, the baker created silhouette cats & laid them on the cake.  To say that they LOVE cats is an understatement.

Urban Wedding at 3015 at Trinity Groves

On a chilly day in February Stellie and Melissa locked eyes for the first time and passion swept through them… well, not exactly. It was more like volleyballs sweeping through them during their first match together. Stellie and Melissa met through the Champagne Volleyball League which they both played in. One day when they both had a match, Stellie’s partner did not show up. Melissa had just finished her game when Stellie locked eyes with her. In search of a new partner for the day, Stellie ran up to her and asked her to play with him for his match and he would buy drinks after. While finishing up drinks, Melissa realized she found a guy that could be a really good friend but Stellie, on the other hand, thought this new relationship could be something more.  Stellie got denied by Melissa three times before she asked him to accompany her to a friend’s wedding. Several dates later they fell in love and Stellie proposed in Las Vegas, to which Melissa replied with a ‘Yes!’

When discussing the wedding, they started out with an idea for it to be urban summer theme. Once they figured out their colors, everything else just fell into place. They both agreed that the colors majolica blue and warm olive were a perfect choice for their urban wedding. After a short engagement of just 4 months, they exchanged their vows and made their toasts at 3015 at Trinity Groves. The venue made their delicious cake as well.  Melissa’s gorgeous gown was designed by San Patrick and she purchased it at Lasting Bridal Couture.

Melissa says that her favorite moment of the whole wedding was having a first look with Stellie. It expressed that it was such a memorable and special moment that they two shared. She was nervous and excited to see him. It was much needed alone time before walking down the aisle.

Their floral arrangements from Fleurs de France really captured the colors and feel that the couple was hoping for. The center pieces were simple and modern. The photos were taken by the talented Harry from Harry Photo.

For the entertainment they had a violinist Richmond Punch, Ernestos mariachi band, and a DJ from ES Events. The violinist played during the ceremony while the mariachi band and DJ played during the reception.

Melissa and Stellie loved the dance floor. They said that it was a joy to see all their family and friends getting down to the fun music. Even Stellie’s grandparents were getting jiggy with it! Melissa said that she loved every song and every dance. They even had choreographed a mash-up for their first dance. How fun!

Stellie and Melissa withstood 3 large thunderstorms that wonderful day but the rain was certainly not going to stop them. They luckily got their first look done at the Magnolia Hotel minutes before the first down pour started. But hey, you know what they say, it is good luck for it to rain on your wedding day! We will take it! Stellie and Melissa were a joy to work with and it was an honor to be apart of their big day. We truly witnessed love as they became husband and wife.

Real Fall Wedding at the Fort Worth Water Gardens

After meeting in 9th grade in Plano, Texas, Britney and Kris couldn’t wait to tie the knot at their fall 2013 wedding at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. They chose their fall date because it was between their two birthdays, October 1st and October 11th, and it incorporated Britney’s favorite colors: orange, brown, and shades of red.

Davis_W_1390

When asked about their decision to do a ‘first look’, this is what Britney had to say:

“Our first look before the wedding was so incredibly special to me. I was so nervous walking down to see him, almost in tears. So much raw emotion and love! I felt like that moment all the planning and organizing I had done for the wedding was suddenly worth it, every last bit of it. It was the perfect moment.”

With the threat of a thunderstorm brewing, Britney and Kris didn’t even consider moving their beautiful wedding inside.  Somehow, they just knew everything would work out.

The moment the ceremony finished and the guests were inside, it started pouring down rain! They say rain is good luck on your wedding day, which seems to be especially true for Britney and Kris.

 Davis_W_1725

After a close call with mother nature, the celebration was taken across the street to the Sheraton Hotel in Fort Worth. All of the details that Britney worked on really came together for the reception. From small details like the signs and the favors, to the intricate centerpieces, Britney and Kris’s reception was true to their style and no detail went unnoticed.

Even the cake from Crème de la Crème  tied in with their elegant fall theme!

With a grand exit in an antique car to drive them away, their wedding day drew to a close. What a fabulous day! We are so lucky to have been a part of the planning and the celebration.

Davis_W_3270

It seems as if married life is treating Britney and Kris quite well. She explains, “I don’t really feel that much has changed in our everyday life since we got married, but now it’s that feeling like “It’s just me and you, partners for life and in it together. It’s a great feeling!”

Kelsey and Seth’s Rustic Vintage Cross Timbers Winery Wedding

One of the best aspects of my job is being surrounded by amazing families during one of the most important time in their lives.  I really get to see love embodied in its truest form and it is a very humbling experience.

Kelsey & Seth Granda’s rustic/vintage wedding at Cross Timbers Winery in Grapevine, TX was one of those beautiful moments.  The respect and love that exuded from their family and friends in support of their upcoming nuptials was felt by all who were privileged to be apart of their special day.  Not only in emotional support, but in demonstration during the wedding.  Kelsey’s sister and maid of honor, Jourdin, designed the wedding invitations and programs while a family friend handled the printing.  A close friend of the family officiated the ceremony.  A long time friend performed “I Have and I Always Will” by Dave Barnes during the family and wedding party processional.  Members of their wedding party played “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector, and “Arithmetic” by Brooke Fraser while the guests and the bridal party partook in communion.  Finally, Kelsey’s dad played the guitar while she and Seth had their first dance to “Making Memories Of Us” by Keith Urban.  Let’s also not forget that her dad announced the entire wedding party using his own special descriptions for each of them.  When Kelsey was asked about these wonderful contributions she simply replied “It’s so powerful when your best friends and your family aren’t only supporting you by standing up there with you, but they also usher guests into moments of tranquility, sweetness, and holiness.  That was very, very special.”

Personal details were adorned tastefully throughout the wedding.  As a sweet token of appreciation, Kelsey proudly displayed her mother and grandmothers’ wedding gowns along with their pictures beside each dress as a way of honoring them for paving the way for their future generations.

 DSC_0191-2-2

Kesley and Seth’s favorite desserts of banana pudding, pocket pies by ZenZero and cupcakes by Sprinkles Cupcakes were served in lieu of a traditional wedding cake.  Her grandmother’s lace dollies, silver overlay vases and milk vases were lovingly placed on the guests’ tables.  Daisies, Kelsey’s favorite flower, were part of the colorful yellow, ivory, peach and touch of grey floral by DIRT.

Kelsey made a few of her own décor pieces that helped tie her theme together.  Inside the barn, she hung large burlap fabric w/ various sized pinwheels along the walls.  She made fabric banners to be hung as backdrops outside.

Who would have known that when they met 4 years and 7 months prior at their school’s orientation week during a concert, they would find the love of their life and say ‘I Do’ forever.  This March wedding was truly the embodiment of unconditional love blessed by God and all those who were there to bear witness.

Mixing Trends :: A Real Wedding at The Room On Main in Dallas

Fads and trends have been swirling around the wedding world for centuries.  From dresses to décor, trends are what help feed our creative minds to build upon what’s popular and thus create new trends.  What’s become fashionable, is combing trends together to create an exclusive look.  Brides love to put their own unique spin of mixing styles to create their distinctive theme.

This is exactly what Texas A&M couple, Julie and Bryan Sansone’s January 26th wedding embodied. Wooden elements, from the tables to the centerpieces, mixed with metallics, white floral and soft uplighting created an ambiance of natural brilliance.

Sansone-D-WisnerPhoto-1017

Mixing glam and nature together in a design may not be for everyone, but Julie and Bryan’s casual yet bold personalities made this combination a perfectly balanced infusion.  And their reception venue, The Room on Main in Dallas, helped to complete the look.

Sansone-D-WisnerPhoto-1016

When attempting to tie in your own style to a current wedding trend, it’s important to stay true to your taste, and slowly weave in the trend wherever you have the right opportunity.  Julie has very fun yet elegant taste and wanted to create an atmosphere that would exemplify this, but would be different from any other wedding out there.  So she chose to pair elegant tufted banquettes, shantung silk linen and custom runners with tablescapes containing rustic woods, soft floral, gold, platinum and bronze metallics, and glimmering candlelight designed by Expressions of Décor.

Sansone-D-WisnerPhoto-1027

The ambiance of this couple’s wedding reception is one that their guests won’t easily forget.  The father of the bride kicked the night off right with an awesome guitar solo during the father-daughter dance.  Blue Bell Ice Cream, from where the groom works, was passed out with the cake that was beautifully decorated by Frosted Art Bakery.  The couple’s alma mater fight song was sang by majority of guests’ as they swayed back n’ forth belting out the words as loud as they could.

The dance floor stayed packed as guests’ danced the night away, thanks to DJ Jason Barnes with I-Entertainment, until it was time to say good-bye with a grand departure complete with heart shaped clappers.
